Gestamp was awarded as a Spanish Company with the “Keicho award for Innovation and Technology” by the Japan - Spain Business Circle (CEJE). These awards recognize both a Japanese and a Spanish Company for promoting innovation and technology in their respective sectors and also supporting business development between both countries. On the Japanese side, Panasonic has been the company awarded.
Gestamp was selected for its commitment developing innovatively designed products in order to create increasingly safer and lighter vehicles, thereby constantly improving energy consumption and environmental impact. This award also supports the Company strategy to strength its strategic relationship.
Gestamp already has a production plant in Japan opened in 2018. Located at Prefecture of Mie adds to this market Hot Stamping, a state-of-the-art technology in which Gestamp is a global leader. This technology helps to produce safer and lighter Body-in-White parts. Gestamp also works for the Japanese auto manufacturers in other regions as North America, South America, Europe and Asia.
Gestamp also develops R&D activities in Japan at its R&D center in Tokio, opened in 2017 focused on giving support to its Japanese clients with technical and commercial dedicated teams. The Company co-develops parts for its vehicles with Japanese local customers.
