Efficiency. It could be just another word. In fact, it could be just another noun like so many others to be added to the commonly used word list, especially in a business, industrial or economic context.
However, if we combine in the same phrase the terms, “efficiency” and “energy”, the result would leave us facing a global challenge that involves more than states, economies and any sociopolitical and economical system.
Energy efficiency is one of the solutions to the global challenge of climate change. Thinking about energy efficiency highlights the need of taking care of what is ours: planet health.
Gestamp’s energy efficiency initiative, which is being implemented in its production plants, aims to optimizing and reducing energy consumption. Specifically, Gestamp reduces 15% of its energy consumption thanks to this project. This initiative makes it possible to monitor in real time factories’ energy consumption needs and store all the information in the cloud, so that it is easily accessible in every level of the organization, according to their needs.
In addition, this energy efficiency project allows also for processing and analyzing all the collected data to draw conclusions about the equipment behavior in order to identify performance improvements, from an energy point of view.
With this initiative, Gestamp tracks energy consumption and the accomplishment of the Group’s objectives regarding this matter. The ultimate goal of this project is to parameterize and model, by defining standards, the equipment behavior in order to achieve its optimal efficient level of work and simultaneously achieve reductions in CO2 emissions.
