Gestamp and Tata Steel UK nearly double recycled steel content with new circularity partnership

Tata Steel, the largest steelmaker in the UK and Tier 1 automotive supplier Gestamp, have signed an agreement aimed at nearly doubling the percentage of recycled steel in the components they supply to the automotive sector, as the two companies work to increase the circularity of steel in the automotive supply chain. The initiative will enable Gestamp to pass on to vehicle manufacturers the benefits of increasing their recycled content, such as a reduced carbon footprint.

ArcelorMittal and Gestamp sign circularity agreement

ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products and Tier 1 automotive supplier Gestamp have signed a ‘circularity agreement’ aimed at strengthening environmental sustainability throughout the industrial supply chain. The agreement involves jointly designing and implementing a circularity scheme that will enhance the recycling of steel between Gestamp and ArcelorMittal and ultimately, offer benefits obtained to their automotive customers.

Mireia Arroyo, Communication, Marketing & Public Affairs Director

Gestamp has appointed Mireia Arroyo de la Parte, until now head of Institutional Relations of the company, as Corporate Director of Communication, Marketing and Public Affairs. In her new position, she will lead the relationship with the different public-private entities in the countries where Gestamp operates, coordinate the integral management with the media, as well as corporate communication, reputation and brand development, essentials for the achievement of the company's business objectives. Arroyo will report directly to the executive chairman.

Gestamp announces the construction of its first plant in Japan

Gestamp, a Spanish multinational company specialized in the design, development and manufacture of parts for the automotive industry, has announced the upcoming construction of its first plant in Japan, in a ceremony held in the city of Matsusaka which was attended by the Governor of Mie Prefecture, Eikei Suzuki; the mayor of Matsusaka, Masato Takegami; the CEO of Mitsui, Tatsuo Yasunaga and the Chairman of Gestamp, Francisco J. Riberas.

Gestamp cuts energy consumption at its plants by 15 percent

Thanks to a cloud-based efficient energy management platform that uses big data to optimise consumption, Siemens has enabled Gestamp, a multinational company in metal autoparts manufacturing, to reduce energy consumption by up to 15 percent at 14 of its plants. The Spanish company specialises in designing, developing and manufacturing metal autoparts to make lighter and safer cars, and has chosen Siemens as global supplier to implement this system and thus manage to optimise its energy needs in an industry that is increasing its energy consumption.

Gestamp to invest £70 million in new state-of-the-art stamping plant in UK

Gestamp, an international group dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metal automotive components, plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Four Ashes near Wolverhampton (West Midlands). The new plant will upgrade the company’s industrial capabilities in the region and will entail an investment of over £70 million. Gestamp’s investment will add up to the £56.3 million for the new factory construction developed by Bericote Properties and financed by Tritax.

113 students have completed the four editions of Gestamp’s Industrial Project Management Master’s Program

Since 2012, a total of 113 students have passed through the classrooms of the Master’s Degree in International Industrial Project Management organized by Spanish structural components for automobiles company Gestamp and the ICADE Business School (Comillas Pontifical University ICAI-ICADE). A total of 27 students from seven countries completed the forth course of the master’s degree, and an estimated 70% will be hired by Gestamp.

Gestamp receives €160m from EIB for financing research and innovation

Gestamp receives €160m from the European Investment Bank (BEI) for financing research and innovation. EIB supports research, development and innovation in the European automotive sector. EIB Vice-President Román Escolano and Gestamp CEO Francisco J. Riberas today signed a EUR 160m Investment Plan for Europe loan at a ceremony in Madrid. The loan will allow Gestamp, a Spanish multinational specialised in metal vehicle components, to pursue new avenues of research into producing safer and lighter cars.

Edscha Builds New Plant in Mexico

The internationally operating automotive supplier Edscha, a member of the Spanish Gestamp Group since 2010, has laid the cornerstone for its new plant in Mexico. Torsten Greiner, Chief Executive Officer of Edscha, gave the go-ahead for construction of the first Edscha location in Mexico at an official ceremony today. For the Gestamp Group the new plant will be the sixth in Mexico. Edscha products are slated to come off the production line in the Mexican city of San Luis Potosí as early as December of this year.

Students from 11 different countries have graduated Gestamp Industrial Project Management Master 3rd edition

A total of 28 students of 11 different nationalities attended the Graduation Ceremony for the Master Degree Program in International Industrial Project Management (Máster en Dirección Internacional de Proyectos Industriales), organized by the ICADE Business School and Gestamp.  The nearly 30 students studied theory for some five months, and another four travelled to different international destinations in which Gestamp has its work centers in order to carry out internships in a real business environment for the management of global projects.

Gestamp opens its eighth Chinese plant, and foresees China as its third market by 2015

Gestamp, the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of metal components and assemblies for major automakers worldwide, celebrated the opening of its eighth facility in China, located in the South Eastern city of Dongguan (Guangdong province). Gestamp Dongguan has been built in just 30 weeks, marking a record figure for the Group in terms of rapid construction and launch of production.

Gestamp has been awarded in the twelfth edition of the Internationalization Awards organized by the Spanish organization ‘Club de Exportadores e Inversores’. Gestamp leaves its footprint in the streets of Japan

The Spanish leading supplier of metal autoparts donated to the city of Tokyo a great size steel sculpture which stands in front of Sengokuyama Mori Tower, in Ark Hills area, since September 17th. The piece is the eighth member of exhibit MU (empty space), consisting on seven plus one twin figures of more than two meters tall inspired in the values of the Japanese culture and intended to represent the increasing dialogue between Spain and Japan.

Gestamp announces the opening of a second production plant in Puebla, Mexico with an investment of over 55 million euros

Closing of the Master in International Industrial Project Management by Gestamp and Comillas ICAI-ICADE

Gestamp, leader in design, development and manufacture of components and metal assemblies and ICADE Business School-ICAI Engineering School of the Comillas Pontifical University closed down the second edition of the Master in International Industrial Project Management in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the academic institution, in which 30 students from nine different nationalities received their diploma.
